Coordination meeting on organizing 67th Anniversary Independence Day held

Although State Flag-hoisting and saluting ceremonies will be held across the nation to mark the 67th Anniversary of Independence Day as usual, the Independence Day Parade for the President will take place in Nay Pyi Taw this year in accord with its own program of the central committee, Vice-President Dr Sai Mauk Kham, chairman of the central committee for the 67th Anniversary Independence Day Celebration, said at a coordination meeting on Friday.
Speaking at the coordination meeting on organizing the 67th Anniversary Independence Day held at the Union Government Office in Nay Pyi Taw, the Vice President called on a subcommittee to take responsibility for setting up of billboards bearing objectives of the 67th Anniversary Independence Day at designated places. He also invited suggestions of the committee members for the successful holding of this year’s celebration to mark the Independence Day.
Next, the commander of Nay Pyi Taw Command, the central committee secretary and chairmen of subcommittees reported on preparations for the Independence Day Parade for the President and the Independence Day celebration respectively. The central committee members, then, made supplementary reports at the meeting.
The four objectives of the 66th Anniversary Independence Day are : All the national people to strive together for non-disintegration of the Union, non-disintegration of national solidarity and perpetuation of sovereignty All the national people to live together in the Union forever; All the national people to participate in efforts for ceasing armed conflicts and gaining genuine peace; and All the national people to work hard in building a developed and discipline-flourishing democratic nation.
