Coord meeting for 69th Martyrs’ Day ceremony held

U Myint Swe spoke of holding a ceremony to commemorate the 69th anniversary Martyrs’ Day with hopes to instill a nationalistic pride in order to maintain the value of Myanmar’s independence.
The event is also aimed at promoting ‘national spirit’ in younger generations.
During the meeting at the President’s Office, U Myint Swe spoke to the ministries concerned on respective tasks for successful convening of 69th Martyrs’ Day.
Union Minister for Religious Affairs and Culture Thura U Aung Ko who is also the chairman of the organising central committee, Yangon Mayor U Maung Maung Soe, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe and Minister of State for Foreign Affairs U Kyaw Tin also attended.
Officials from the Ministries of Religious Affairs and Culture, Education and Information elaborated on arrangements being made for holding the ceremony.
After hearing reports on general matters, U Myint Swe concluded the event.—Myanmar News Agency
