Construction of stone retaining wall to be completed soon

The almost completed retaining wall of Kyauk Pyu bridge is seen.

The construction of a stone retaining wall to strengthen the Kyauk Pyu reinforced concrete bridge will be completed soon. The bridge is near Maw Han village station hospital, Moe Hnyin township, Kachin state.
“The bridge is located on Union Road of Shwebo-Myitkyina across Kyauk Pyu Creek. The bridge is 42 feet long, 30 feet wide and nine and a half feet high. Despite completion of the construction of the bridge in 2015-2016, the retaining wall was weakened by water erosion. So the construction of a stone concrete retaining wall will be built to strengthen the bridge with the supervision of the district road department,” said U Myo Win, a sub-assistant engineer.
Upon completion of the retaining wall, an 18- foot-wide tar path will be paved on both sides of the bridge.
