Construction begins on Tagwin Dam canal

CONSTRUCTION on the main canal of Tagwin Dam in Hopin Township, Kachin State, began on Saturday, according to Irrigation Department official U Kyi Soe. The dam will irrigate 4,000 acres of monsoon paddy.
A total of 17 dam structures, each 28 feet long, 23 feet wide and 9 feet deep, are slated for construction at the canal. The main canal is 1,190 feet long and 6 feet wide. The target date for completion is 20 November.
