Committee for revision & drafting rules and regulations on television and broadcasting law holds 2nd coordination meeting

Union Minister Dr Pe Myint addresses the 2nd co-ordination meeting of committee for revision and drafting rules and regulation on television and broadcasting law.

The 2nd co-ordination meeting of committee for revision and drafting rules and regulations on television and broadcasting law was held at 10 am on Friday in the meeting hall of the ministry of information in Nay Pyi Taw.
At the meeting, Dr Pe Myint, Union Minister for Information disclosed, “At the first coordination meeting held on November 23, 2016, 11 items were decided. Now they will be discussed. Media is a place of assessment as to how many changes Myanmar gained in the process of democratic movement. Media law depicts to which extent media is achieving freedom of expression. People are closely watching private and other media exercising freedom of expression to which extent. And every person who contacts us is asking and demanding this. There was a law on television. According to changing situations, arrangements are under way due to the needs for revision of the law. Ways and means are being searched for other interested persons to run the television and broadcasting business.”
Afterward, U Myint Htwe, director-general of MRTV, clarified the situations of preparation in accord with the decision of the 1st coordination meeting on revision and drafting rules and regulations on Television and Broadcasting Law, followed by advices of the attendants.
