Commander-in-Chief leaves for 13th ASEAN army chiefs meeting in Laos

COMMANDER-IN-CHIEF of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing left Nay Pyi Taw for Laos yesterday to attend the 13th ASEAN Chiefs of Defence Forces’ Informal Meeting (ACDFIM) to be held in Vientiane from 13 to 15 March.
Upon arrival at the Wattay International Airport in the Laos capital, the delegation led by the commander-in-chief was welcomed by the Director of Foreign Relationships of the Lao People’s Armed Forces Brig-Gen Kenchan Nathalancy, Director of the Airforce Department Brig-Gen Khamphat and diplomats from the two countries.
Senior General Min Aung Hlaing will have sideline meetings with each of the army chiefs of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations.
While in Laos, the commander-in-chief conducted an on-site inspection of the land chosen for the construction of a new Myanmar military attaché office.
At the residence of the Myanmar ambassador to Laos, the senior general met with families of embassy staff, military attachés and scholars and encouraged them to play their parts in promoting bilateral relations.—Myawaddy
