Chairman of the Union Civil Service Board Dr Win Thein, spoke of upholding the wishes of the people and serving Myanmar with the intention to ensure that Myanmar becomes a peaceful and prosperous country.
The speech was made at the opening of Management Course No.3 for heads of service organisations at Central Institute of Civil Service (Upper Myanmar) in Pyin-Oo-Lwin, Mandalay Region yesterday.
In his address, Dr Win Thein stressed the need for Myanmar citizens to bring about change in the country, as development cannot be effectuated just by the words “Correct perception is key to changing mindsets,” he said.
Dr Win Thein quoted State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi as saying, “civil servants must strive to win the trust of the public by being reliant and carrying out their jobs in the interest of the people.”
Altogether 30 senior officers with the rank of deputy director-general are taking the course set to last eight weeks. Afterwards, Dr Win Thein visited staff quarters and observed preparations for the opening of a Civil Service Academy.—Myanmar News Agency
