Chinese experts report findings on flood prevention to vice president

A team of Chinese experts on maintenance of water courses and prevention of floods and droughts reported their findings on prevention of inundation along the Ayeyawady River to Vice President U Nyan Tun at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw on Friday.
The vice president also chairs the National Natural Disaster Management Committee.
The team conducted surveys at 32 places along the river for prevention of floods.
Myanmar has conducted post-disaster need assessments in cooperation with the World Bank, EU, JICA and UN.
Also present were Deputy Ministers U Thant Kyaw, U Khin Zaw, U Zin Yaw, U Soe Tint, advisor to the president Dr Zaw Oo and the Chinese ambassador to Myanmar.
