A centre is projected to be established in Mudon Township of Mon State by Myanmar Bamboo Lovers Network with the aim of showcasing a wide range of native species of bamboos, its members say. In cooperation with Shwe Zanaka Agribusiness Group and Myanmar Rattan and Bamboo Association, the project will be implemented on about 30,000-acre of land, planning to open the centre for public observation before this year.
The project also aims to distribute bamboo-related technology by conducting trainings at the centre, planning to seek new market for local bamboos.
Several discussions have been made between Shwe Zanaka Co and the Myanmar Bamboo Lovers Network to discuss matters relating to establishment of the centre, said its chairwoman. Mon State is suitable for bamboo planting than other destinations. This is the reason why the network chose the state to implement its project.
