Central Committee for Implementation of Peace, Stability and Development in Rakhine State meets

THE second work coordination meeting of the Central Committee for the Implementation of Peace, Stability and Development in Rakhine State was held at the Presidential Palace in Nay Pyi Taw yesterday with an address by State Counsellor Daw Aung San Suu Kyi who chairs the central committee.
First, Maj-Gen Than Htut, secretary of the central committee, elaborated on the previous work coordination meeting’s minutes.
Next, Union Minister Lt-Gen Ye Aung, vice chairman of the central committee, reported on works to be done and requirements to be fulfilled for developmental undertakings in Rakhine State; Rakhine State Chief Minister U Nyi Pu spoke on matters related to security and regional requirements for development; Union Minister Lt-Gen Kyaw Swe on the security of Rakhine State; Union Minister U Thein Swe on ongoing works to do with the citizenship verification process; Union Minister Dr Win Myat Aye on regional development and socio-economic development matters and Union Minister U Kyaw Tint Swe on continued coordination and cooperation with international organisations.
Those present made suggestions for the implementation of future programmes through cooperation among ministries concerned, local authorities and civil society organisations including problems and requirements.
The State Counsellor coordinated matters and stressed the need for having a priority list of implementation and improving cooperation between the ministries concerned and the regional government to overcome challenges through collaborative efforts.—Myanmar News Agency
