Catholic community prays for peaceful transition

THE Roman Catholic community in Myanmar celebrated the National Marian Pilgrimage in Nyaunglebin, Bago Region, and praying for a peaceful transition in the country.
The 114th anniversary of the pilgrimage attracted more than 50,000 to a meeting with Cardinal Charles Maung Bo on 13 February.
Bago Region Chief Minister U Nyan Win also delivered an address at the ceremony, elaborating on constitution’s guarantee of freedom of religion.
The chief minister also stressed the importance of friendship among all national people to enjoy the right of freedom of religion.
“We pray for a peaceful transition in Myanmar in this Marian Pilgrimage,” said Cardinal Charles Maung Bo.
