Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung festival celebrated at pagodas across Yangon

PAGODAS in Yangon such as Shwedagon, Sule, Botahtaung and Shwe Phone Pwint pagodas were packed with pilgrims celebrating the Buddha Pujaniya Festival on the Full Moon of Tabaung yesterday.
Thousands of devotees thronged Shwedagon Pagoda to celebrate the 2604th Buddha Pujaniya Tabaung Festival of the pagoda yesterday morning.
During the merit-sharing ceremony of the festival the congregation received nine precepts from State Ovadacariya Sayadaw Agga Maha Pandita Agga Maha Gantavasaka Pandita Bhaddanta Abhidhaja Maha Rattha Guru Bhaddanta Nandobasa and offered provisions to members of Sangha.
Likewise, Botahtaung Kyaikdaeat SandawU Pagoda in Seikkan Township, Shwe Phone Pwint Pagoda in Pazudaung Township, Thiri Mingala Kaba-Aye Pagoda, Kyaik-waing Pagoda and Tooth Relic Pagoda (Yangon) in Mayangon Township, Lawka Chantha Abaya Labamuni Pagoda in Insein Township and Kyaikkasan Pagoda in Thingangyun Township were crowded with pilgrims on the Full Moon.
