Bangladesh donates medicines worth $800,000 to flood victims

DSC_1000 0An aircraft from Bangladeshi airline carrying medicines donated for flood-affected areas in Myanmar arrived at Yangon International Airport on 8 August.
Bangladeshi Ambassador Mr Mohammad Sufiur Rahman handed over the donations to Deputy Minister for Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement Daw Su Su Hlaing.
The ambassador said, “Our Prime Minister urged Bangladeshi people to donate cash and kind to flood victims of Myanmar. We arrange to donate makeshift tents and blankets for the victims.”
An official of Relief and Resettlement Department said that the department will distribute 40 medical kits worth US$800,000 comprising 32 medical items to the flood-affected areas through Ministry
of Health.
