Baby elephants falling down into water rescued in Kawthaung

TWO baby elephants that fell into a pond near an oil-palm plantation in Kawthaung District,  Taninthayi Region have been saved by the employees of the farm on Saturday.
The accident occurred near a plantation owned by Yuzana Co. in Chaungmon village, Pyigyimandaing Township in the district on Friday. A three-year-old boy elephant and a five-year-old girl elephant fell into a pond while their herd of wild elephants visited the pond for water.
Workers said those elephants tried to save the babies the whole night.
Officials and employees of the farm were able to save the victims with the use of heavy machineries in the evening. Those people then returned the two babies to their herd after they had been rescued, one of employee said.
