Rakhine State Minister for Electricity, Industry and Transportation U Aung Kyaw Zan and Amyotha Hluttaw MP Daw Htu May met with local residents in Kainggyi Village and Mawrawady Village in Maungtaw Township.
At the meeting at Kainggyi Village, the villagers suggested that authorities establish a local bazaar, appoint a doctor to the village’s clinic, make arrangements for security, create job opportunities, set up a library and install TV receivers.
During the visit to Mawrawady Village, locals asked the authorities to boost security measures and to supply more power as they are supplied only two hours of electricity per day.
The authorities also observed the harvesting of rice with the use of a harvesting machine provided by the Agricultural Mechanization Department.
The department has provided two harvesters each to villages in the township, making a total of 40 harvesters.—Myanmar News Agency
