Army chief hands over relief aids to floods victims in Rakhine State

COMMANDER-in-Chief of Defence Services Senior General Min Aung Hlaing encouraged flood victims from MyaukU and Kyauktaw townships in Rakhine State yesterday, calling for overcoming the challenges posed by the current disaster with the unity between them and the Tatmadaw.
He also pledged that the Tatmadaw would participate in disaster preparedness and relief efforts in the state.
At the meeting with flood disasters in Myauk U and Kyauktaw, the Senior General handed over relief aids donated by families of the armed forces to the local peoples.
He also pledged that the Tatmadaw would assist in the cultivation of rice in summer season as the rice cultivation in the rainy season is hit by the floods.
He also urged the local farmers to make more effort for growing rice in the summer.
During his visit to Kyauktaw, Commander-in-Chief of Defence Services also met with senior military officers and other ranks and their families.
