Amyotha Hluttaw Roundup

Untitled-1 72THE Amyotha Hluttaw (Upper House) approved three bills, including the Basic Education Bill, during yesterday’s session.
Dr Myat Nyanna Soe, Secretary of the Amyotha Hluttaw Bill Committee, suggested that parliament should amend the bill to include the phrase “to gain basic skills for proficiency and technology” so as to make the objectives of the bill more clear-cut.
The committee had already amended the bill after checking it thoroughly, he added.
The two other bills approved by the Amyotha Hluttaw were bylaws amending the Myanma Pearl Enterprise Bylaws and the Organisations Registration bylaws, which were both amended by the Pyithu Hluttaw (Lower House) and sent back to the Amyotha Hluttaw.— Myanmar News Agency
