Aid flowing into villages in northern Rakhine State

The Union Government, Rakhine State Government and UNHCR are working together in Rakhine State, sending aid to villages in conflict areas in northern Rakhine.
Aid from the government and UNHCR reached 2,797 households from six village-tracts : Ducheertan, Gawduthar, Ohntaw, Alethankyaw, Oodaung and Shwebaho: in Maungtaw Township on 9th December.
Besides, dry ration including about 80 bags of rice, 159 viss of cooking oil, 159 viss of beans and 159 viss of salt and medicines were sent to 318 families in another five village-tracts in the township.
Similarly, with the National Disaster Management Committee of the Ministry of Social Welfare, Relief and Resettlement, food worth K70 million provided by were sent to the villages yesterday which are experiencing shortage of food.—Myanmar News Agency
