Agricultural company demonstrates pivot irrigation system

Shwe Pyay Myay agricultural company showed pivot irrigation system in Wethtigan station, Pyay Township, Monday. U Nyo Oo, spokesperson of the joint-venture company, said the water spray system using irrigation is introduced for effective use of water from irrigation channels
by March this year.
He noted the pivot irrigation system is like spraying artificial rain and 30 gallons of water is enough for 100 acres of farm, reducing the loss of water.
He also sought assessment of farmers on the suitability for of this system for industrialized agricultural system, adding that the establishment of their joint-venture company is aimed to gain access to modern agricultural technologies through the partnership with foreign company.
U Nyo Oo then pledged to provide the local farmers with technical supports in using this system.
New Zealander agriculturalist Mr. Murray James Linton answered the questions of farmers on this system.
The demonstration was also witnessed by U Kyaw Kyaw Linn, Pyithu Hluttaw MP of Bago region, officials concerned, and agricultural experts.
