The use of drones for aerial photography has grown increasingly popular in the photography industry in Myanmar’s central dry zone, locals say.
Drones are widely used to take aerial shots of induction ceremonies of novice. Photographers normally photograph these events from at least 20 feet above the ground.
The region has seen an increase the number of entrepreneurs who have bought drones for documentary photo services. The current selling price for a standard drone is between K700,000 ($567) and  K1 million ($810), though some sell for as much as K2.5 million (US$2,025). Drone photography services can be hired for between K100,000 ($81) and K150,000 ($121).
Authorities said they are now planning to regulate the use of drones with licence requirements.
