Action taken against cattle smugglers

As a truck carrying buffalos and cows did not obey to orders of a mobile team at Okpon checkpoint in Kyangin Township, Ayeyawady Region, on 29 May. Acting on a tip-off, a police squad seized the vehicle near Okpon rice mill on Pathein-Monywa road.
According to the investigation, owners of cattle Win Zaw, Nway Oo, U Sein Lay, Aung Naing Soe, Myint Aung, Wai Lwin Myo, Thein Shwe, Myint Oo and Myint Shwe brought the cattle without permission. They smuggled 11 buffalos and cows worth K4.9 million from Pauknwesan Village in Kyangin Township to Peinnekhon Village in Padaung Township.
Betye police station opened files of lawsuit against those who smuggled cattle without permissions under Section 5 of the Important Commodities and Services Law.–Ayeya U Thar
