Action has been taken against squatters, arsonists: Deputy Home Affairs Minister

LEGAL action has  been taken against squatters and those who committed arson against squatters in huts in Kyaikhto Township, Mon State, Deputy Minister for Home Affairs Maj-Gen Aung Soe told the Amyotha Hluttaw yesterday.
U Bo Bo Aung and 10 others in one case and U Maung Shwe and three others in another have been charged for squatting on vacant land and disturbing tranquility, said the deputy minister.
He added that charges have also been filed against those who committed attacks of arson on 60 of 70 squatter huts that were burned down.
During the 37th day session of the Amyotha Hluttaw, the deputy minister also responded to a question about a plan to facilitate measures against transnational organized crimes in connection with human trafficking.  The deputy minister said that coordination and cooperation with Interpol is sought as well as with the police forces and embassies of the countries concerned through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in the fight against transnational organized crimes in general and trafficking in persons in particular.
