THE Yangon Region government has invited Yangonites to apply for rental apartments at a housing complex in Dagon Myothit (South) Township.
According to the regional government, those who live in Yangon with no homes, but have household list certificate (66/6), are qualified for submission of their applications to rent an apartment at the rate of K30, 000 a month at Mahabandoola Housing Complex for the long term.
Only applicants who own no home in Yangon and want to rent an apartment for the long term will be chosen,” said U Myat Kyaw Kyaw, secretary of the Yangon Region government.
Application forms are being issued at township administrator’s offices across Yangon, and the forms are to be sent to Yangon Region government from 1 to 15 February.
“I am interested in applying for rental apartments as the rent price is pretty fair,” said U Nyi Phyo Lin who lives in a rented house in Hlinethaya Township.
According to the Yangon Region government, it can revoke a lease if anyone who was allowed to rent an apartment there fail to follow its instructions in which re-renting or selling the apartment is   banned.
The Mahabandoola Housing Complex designated for people with no homes in Yangon has 1,200 apartments. Each apartment is 569 sq.ft.
