5th RBE train launched with air-conditioned coaches

The runs of air-conditioned RBE train which will be 5th of its kind along Yangon circular railroad was held at Yangon Railway Station, here, on Sunday, with Union Minister for Rail Transportation U Than Htay and Union Minister for Transport U Nyan Tun Aung in attendance.
After the ceremony, the Union Minister for Rail Transportation replied to queries raised by media.
The train with five new RBE coaches imported from Japan can give 386 seats to passengers. Ticket price is K300 per passenger. The train will stop over at all stations along the circular railroad. For ensuring convenience and security of passengers, each coach has been equipped with two CCTVs, four air-conditioners, seven fans and 16 fluorescence lamps in addition to special seats for pregnant women and those with disabilities.
The train with new coaches runs along Yangon circular railroad and Yangon-Hlawga section 12 times a day. The ministry manages running of 24 trains for 225 times a day so as to transport about 80,000 passengers daily in Yangon City. The union minister instructed officials to maintain the Yangon Railway Station, manage runs of trains on time and ensure safety of passengers from accidents.
