4th meeting held for Myanmar Democracy Film Festival

Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint addresses the meeting for the weeklong Myanmar Democracy Film Festival yesterday in Yangon.

A meeting for the weeklong Myanmar Democracy Film Festival was held yesterday afternoon in the meeting hall of the Myanmar Radio and Television head office on Pyay Road in Yangon.
This was the 4th meeting, in which Union Minister for Information Dr. Pe Myint spoke about the selection of works to be included in the film festival.
“We discussed about letting the experts choose which 3 narratives should become major films and having the rest of the stories be filmed as TV series,” Dr. Pe Myint said.
Literary experts, officials from the Ministry of Information and the Myanmar Motion Picture Organisation who were in attendance discussed choosing the plots, narratives, director, actors and actresses for the major films and TV series to be produced, with the Union Minister facilitating the discussion.
Of the 45 film scripts submitted for the Myanmar Democracy Film Festival, 11 have been decided on, with three of the scripts selected for filming at the weeklong film festival and the remaining ones to be filmed as TV series.
