Mahn Win Khaing Than, Speaker of the Amyotha Hluttaw, reported the amendment of authorities of the committee for Amyotha Hluttaw Women & Children’s Rights, getting the approval of the Hluttaw at the 10th day meeting of 5th regular session, 2nd Amyotha Hluttaw held at 10 am yesterday at the meeting hall of Amyotha Hluttaw in Nay Pyi Taw.
U Win Maw Tun, Deputy Minister for Education, replied to a question raised by U Hwei Tin of constituency 11, in Chin State as to whether there have been any arrangements to upgrade basic education middle schools (branches) in the villages of Chindauk, Taron Ai and Kyeelei in Paletwa township, Chin State in the coming school year.
“The above-said schools were under the designated limits of students depending upon the distance, but they were upgraded to the basic education middle schools on 23rd May 2017.”
Following this, Deputy Minister U Win Maw Tun replied to questions on the education sector raised by Daw May Than Nwe of constituency 11, Ayeyawady Region and U Myint Naing of constituency 5, Rakhine State.
Afterward, U Aung Thein, of constituency 12, Bago Region read out clarifications on the report of the drafting committee regarding the law on repatriation (bill) sent by the Pyithu Hluttaw with the amendment attached, followed by the approval of the Hluttaw.
Regarding the motion urging the Government to have certain subjects — health on reproduction, civil ethics and democracy, introduced and accepted in the syllabus for educational college, state high schools and middle schools, presented by Dr Tin Tin Win of constituency 5 of Bago Region, parliamentarians discussed.
“Collaboration Skill includes the ability to cooperate, the ability to serve for people’s benefits and the ability to achieve success through cooperation which are the practices of the democracy.
The critical thinking skill is the ability to distinguish reasonably between right and wrong. It is of great necessity to settle capacity building in our country. Creativity skill is urgently needed in every sector in our country.
In building up our nation, lifting up of civil ethics and moral conduct in accordance with the evolutionary system. To bring about quality education, civil ethics, subjects on democracy and knowledge on reproduction and health must be introduced and made for all to accept them.” As regards the motion, Dr Than Win of constituency 1, Mandalay Region, U Ye Htut of constituency 5, Sagaing Region, Tatmadaw representative Major Thein Lwin Htay, Daw Lwee Zar of constituency 6 from Kayah State, U Zaw Min of constituency 6, Sagaing Region, Dr Win Myint Chit of constituency 8, Bago Region, Dr Win Myint of constituency 11, Bago Region and U Hla Oo of constituency 4, Sagaing Region discussed respectively.
The 11th day meeting of 2nd Amyotha Hluttaw 5th regular session will be held on 8th June, it has been learnt.
