21st Century Panglong scheduled for four days with the opening address by UN Secretary General

The Union Peace Conference- 21st Century Panglong is scheduled to last for four days with an opening address to be delivered by the Secretary General of the United Nations, according to its planning committee, which met yesterday in Nay Pyi Taw.
The meeting attracted representatives from the government, the military, civil society and ethnic armed organisations.
The Union Peace Dialogue Joint Committee (UPDJC), the Joint Monitoring Committee (JMC) and the Preparatory Committee for Union Peace Conference will submit their reports to the conference, with officials saying that the reports on the framework for political dialogue and the national-level political dialogue would also be presented to the conference. The event will have 76 speakers from three groups on its second, third and fourth days. The first group will comprise representatives from the government, ethnic armed organisations and political parties; the second will be made up of members from parliament, ethnic armed organisations and political parties; and the third group will contain representatives from the military, ethnic armed organisations and political parties. The last day will also involve placing the agenda on the record and making official approvals.—Myanmar News Agency
