NUMBERS of Myanmar Payment Union (MPU) card users have reached over 1.8 million from its establishment of 2012 to date, according to its official.
Myanmar Payment Union now has over 1.8m people using its electric payment methods since 2012, according to an official. The card allows people from 23 different banks to use automatic teller machines (ATM).
The MPU official said the company is trying to transform the country’s payment system and is currently negotiating with partner banks to reduce risks when using the ATM cards.
Issues tend to stem from repairing the server system and changing bank ID numbers. ATMs need maintaining every two weeks, according to the report.
Member banks include Myanma Economic Bank, Myanma Foreign Trade Bank, Myanma Investment and Commercial Bank, Kanbawza Bank, Yoma Bank, Ayeyawady Bank and Myanmar Apex Bank.
